DB2 - Problem description

Problem IT15434 Status: Closed

A STATIC SQL SELECT QUERY CAN RETURN -901 AFTER ALTER ADD COLUMN IS
PERFORMED ON A REFERENCED TABLE

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A50 - DB2
Problem description:
SQL0901 error may be returned when executing a static select
statement which uses the '*' operator after adding some
new columns to the reference table(s).

The problem could be hit using the following:
1. Create stored procedure with static SQL query which includes
a "select '*'" from the results of a join on multiple tables.
2. Alter 'add column' on the left table in the join.
3. Call the stored procedure to execute the static statement.
