DB2 - Problem description

DB2 SHORTCUTS DO NOT APPEAR POST INSTALLATION ON WINDOWS 2012 IFMICROSOFT
SECURITY PATCH KB3126593 WAS APPLIED

Problem description:
DB2 shortcuts like DB2 Command Window may not appear post 
installation if the Microsoft security patch KB3126593 
(https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/kb/3126593) has been 
applied. 
 
If there are multiple DB2 copies on the system, installing a new 
DB2 copy and making the new one the default copy will also cause 
the shortcuts from the previously installed DB2 default copy to 
disappear.

Local Fix:
Uninstall Microsoft patch KB3126593, then re-install DB2.

OR 
 
1) Control Panel->Programs and Features, select DB2 right 
click->Change 
2) In the "Program Maintenance" panel it will have options 
Modify, Repair, Remove.  Choose Repair. 
3) Click through the rest of the options via Next. 
 
Notes: 
(a) You may receive "A general error occurred. The return 
value is '-1'", just ignore and click OK to continue. 
(b) Second work-around may not work for IBM Data Server Runtime
