DB2 - Problem description

Problem IT17098 Status: Closed

DATABASE UPGRADE/RESTORE FROM PRE-10.1 MIGHT CORRUPT CONTAINER PATH IN SPCS
IF SYMLINK IS USED

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A50 - DB2
Problem description:
Upgrading database (UPGRADE DATABASE) or restore from pre-10.1
version to 10.1 or higher might cause container path in
tablespace control file (SQLSPCS) to get corrupted if database
path is a symbolic link. This problem might be encountered for
tablespaces which are created within database path using fully
qualified directory name.

As the result, upgrade of that database might fail with:
SQL0980C A disk error occurred. Subsequent SQL statements
cannot be processed
or
SQL0902C A system error occurred. Subsequent SQL statements
cannot be processed

db2diag.log will indicate that one of database containers cannot
be accessed:
