Problem IT17238 Status: Closed

ENABLING DB2_BCKP_PAGE_VERIFICATION DURING BACKUP DOES NOT DETECT BAD
PAGES UNLESS THEY ARE THE FIRST PAGE OF AN EXTENT

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A50 - DB2
Problem description:
ENABLING DB2_BCKP_PAGE_VERIFICATION DURING BACKUP DOES NOT
DETECT BAD PAGES UNLESS THEY ARE THE FIRST PAGE OF AN EXTENT.

DB2_BCKP_PAGE_VERIFICATION is a registry variable that can be
used to enable checking for bad pages during backups in a DMS
tablespace. Possible values are TRUE/FALSE. The default value
is FALSE. NOTE: This check is always on for purescale, and
purescale properly detects all bad pages.

The feature currently only checks the first page of every extent
in a DMS tablespace.
This APAR fixes this problem by checking all pages in the
extent.
