DB2 - Problem description

Problem IT19078 Status: Closed

DPF: SQL0901N: SQLRA_FREE_SECTION: SECTION NOT CLOSED FROM REMOTE
PARTITIONS IN THE AFTERMATH OF A NODE FAILUIRE

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A10 - DB2
Problem description:
If an application opens a cursor (issues a SELECT statement)
that fetches data from a remote partition, and then there is a
node failure detected in the DPF system, then a -1229 error will
occur and the transaction will be rolled back. This is as
expected.
When the node failure is resolved, then if the same application
opens another cursor using the same statement handle (package
and section number), then depending on the timing, the open of
this cursor may fail with a -901 sqlcode reported from a remote
partition.
