| Problem description: |
For increasing the data availability, IBM Spectrum Protect for
Enterprise Resource Planning can be configured to use the
feature of 'REDOLOG_COPIES 2' in initSID.utl with
BRARCHIVEMGTCLASSes on separate IBM Spectrum Protect servers.

This setup will store the 1st redolog copy into
BRARCHIVEMGTCLASS mgclass01 on SERVER spect01. The 2nd copy is
simultaneously stored into BRARCHIVEMGTCLASS mgclass02 on
SERVER spect02.
Once the number of backup versions exceeds the maximum
specified by the MAX_VERSIONS parameter, the oldest backup and
the associated redologs become eligible for deletion.
But it was found the product only purges the 1.COPY in
BRARCHIVEMGTCLASS mgclass01 on SERVER spect01, leaving obsolete
orphaned log copies in BRARCHIVEMGTCLASS mgclass02 on
SERVER spect02.

using the archive copygroup parameter RETVer=days. |
| Solution |
The IBM Spectrum Protect for Enterprise Resource Planning is
corrected so that redolog copies are expired from all configured
and available IBM Spectrum Protect servers. |
