DB2 - Problem description

Problem IT21539 Status: Closed

DB2ADUTL UPLOAD ALWAYS ESTIMATES BACKUP SIZE AT 4 MB

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / B10 - DB2
Problem description:
The estimated size of backup sent to TSM when uploading a backup
image to TSM using :

   db2adutl upload and remove images taken at ... db ...
mgmtclass ...

is always 4 Mb. If DB2 under estimates the object size and when
insufficient space is available on the TSM storage pool then TSM
cannot anticipate backing up to a different storage pool
resulting in "ANR0534W size estimate exceeded" being returned.
Since DB2 is uploading a completed backup image from disk to
TSM, the size estimate sent should be the real file size when
calling dsmSendObj().
