DB2 - Problem description
Problem IT21723 | Status: Closed |
DB2FOC DOES NOT CHECK FOR ELEVATED PRIVILEGES ON WINDOWS
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / B10 - DB2
Problem description: | |
The use of db2fodc requires elevated (administrative) privileges on Windows. When attempting to run db2fodc from a non-elevated PowerShell or Command Prompt, db2fodc will be launched as usual, no obvious error will be reported to the user at the command prompt, however, the resulting FODC package will only contain partial (and typically insufficient) diagnostic information. The following error will be seen in db2fodc_.log and possibly other files in the FODC package: DB21009E This command must be launched from a command window running with full administrative privileges. The purpose of this fix is to ensure that db2fodc has sufficient operating system privileges before attempting to run. If the privileges are insufficient, db2fodc will not be launched. Instead, db2fodc will terminate immediately while providing a clear error at the command prompt.
