DB2 - Problem description

Problem IT21920 Status: Closed

ALTER TABLESPACE REDUCE OPERATIONS MIGHT LEAD TO ASYNCHRONOUS HIGH
WATERMARKS IN HADR SYSTEMS

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / B10 - DB2
Problem description:
Corrupted HWM tablespace setting may incorrectly allow a
tablespace resize operation to complete
Description: If for unknown reasons the HWM setting of a
tablespace has been set too low, then a resize operation on a
tablespace
might be allowed to proceed and reduce the size too much thereby
removing valid pages from the tablespace.
This apar fix introduces an additional sanity check to prevent
this from happening.
Normally a database restart will allow for the High Water Mark
to be restored to the correct setting as long as no resize
operations have taken place.
