Problem IT21965 | Status: Closed |
DB2UNINS CANNOT BE USED FROM INSTALLED COPY
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / B10 - DB2
Problem description: | |
If you attempt to uninstall DB2 you may hit the following: call "C:\Program Files\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN\db2unins.bat" -y -f -l C:\temp\uninstall.log But on DB2 11.1 this call (which works with DB23 10.5.8) fails with message: "The DB2 copy is damaged or does not exist. Run db2unins from the installation media."

Local Fix: | |
There are the following workaround: - uninstalling from install media. - THis requires DB2 Server.msi and NewRegHKLM.txt is to do what install media db2unins.bat does manually, namely: copy "%~dp0db2unins" .\db2unins.exe > .\null (basically copy db2unins as db2unins.exe to make it executable) copy "%~dp0db2NewRegHKLM.txt" .\db2NewRegHKLM.txt > .\null (copy db2NewRegHKLM.txt to CWD) call db2unins.exe --CDpath "%~dp0db2\Windows\DB2 Server.msi" %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9 (run db2unins.exe with supplied arguments, but add --CDpath as first argument)
