DB2 - Problem description
Problem IT22626 | Status: Closed |
LOAD IN ENCRYPTED DATABASE WILL LEAK SOME ENCRYPTION RELATED MEMORY BLOCKS
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / B10 - DB2
Problem description: | |
The size of the blocks will depend on the platform and will not show up in 'db2pd -memblocks'. However using a simple debugger script to catch malloc/free calls you will be able to detect those blocks. A regular pmap/procmap/svmon would as well over time, depending on the activity, show the heap growing for the db2sysc process. With a debugger script you should see that the blocks left around are coming from below function 'cryptAllocateCachedMemory()'. Each load related EDU will leak about 4 or 5 small size blocks. This issue only applies to encrypted databases.
