SQLO_DISK MISLEADING ERROR MESSAGE IN DB2DIAG.LOG WHEN VERIFYINGSMS BAD PAGE.
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / B10 - DB2
Problem description: | |
DB2 does page verification of pages read from disk before putting them into bufferpools, and during this page verification, if the page verified is bad for some reason, then DB2 writes "page is bad" errors into db2diag.log. When page verification fails on a page read from SMS tablespace, then DB2 may write also a misleading 'out of disk space" error into db2diag.log when, in fact, there is plenty of space on the disks where SMS tablespace resides. db2diag.log entries may look like these: 2017-10-31-18.50.58.474573-240 I2180324A604 LEVEL: Severe PID : 20251380 TID : 299996 PROC : db2sysc 0 INSTANCE: db2inst1 NODE : 000 DB : SAMPLE APPHDL : 0-57030 APPID: local AUTHID : db2inst1 HOSTNAME: localhost EDUID : 299996 EDUNAME: db2agent (SAMPLE) 0 FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, buffer pool services, sqlbReadPage, probe:1151 MESSAGE : ZRC=0x850F000C=-2062614516=SQLO_DISK "Disk full."
