DB2 - Problem description
Problem IT23630 | Status: Closed |
RUNNING "DB2LOOK -L" IN DPF RESULTS IN VERY HIGH MEMORY USAGE - MEMORY LEAK
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / B10 - DB2
Problem description: | |
Running "db2look -l" in a DPF (multiple partition) environment will allocate huge amount of private memory from the Operating System. You might even observe paging depending on machine ressources. You can monitor db2look execution with "ps -elf" and will see that memory (SZ) constantly grows into multiple GB range. The issue has been seen with large DPF installations that have many (several thousand) tablespaces that are defined as DMS tablespaces, spawning multiple partitions.
