Problem description: | |
The Import utility may fail with error -16129 on partitioned database after processing around 65K rows. This may happen if XML or any other long data is imported and only if the import utility is enabled to use buffered inserts. The import utility can be enabled to use buffered insert by executing following statement: db2 bind db2uimpm.bnd insert buf The cause of the failure is that we store long host variable arguments in 16bit indexed list associated with the section for INSERT statement that import runs. With buffered inserts feature enabled the section is not closed after each INSERT execution and the list grows until Db2 wraps the index (after around 65K rows) resulting in this issue.

Local Fix: | |
- Use IMPORT command with COMMITCOUNT lower that 65K - Rebind db2uimpm.bnd with INSERT DEF (to turn off the buffering) Following statement can be used to to check if a database is likely to be affected by this issue: SELECT insert_buf FROM syscat.packages WHERE pkgname = 'SQLUFO15'
