DB2 MAY ABEND WHILE USING PARTICULAR EXPLAIN MODES

Db2 may terminate abnormally while using the following explain
modes:
-RECOMMEND INDEXES
-EVALUATE INDEXES
-RECOMMEND PARTITIONINGS
-EVALUATE PARTITIONINGS

The problem can be avoided by querying the ADVISE_INDEX explain
table before enabling the following explain modes:
-RECOMMEND INDEXES
-EVALUATE INDEXES
And by querying the ADVISE_PARTITIONINGS explain table before
enabling the following explain modes:
-RECOMMEND PARTITIONINGS
-EVALUATE PARTITIONINGS
Note: Querying the explain tables above only needs to be done
once while the database manager is up. |
