FMM6981E RECEIVED AN ERROR FROM THE ADAPTER: ILLEGAL SVC VDISK STATUS STRING VALUE: DELETING

| Problem description: |
While using IBM Spectrum Protect Snapshot with IBM SAN Volume
Controller (SVC) dynamic target allocation (DTA) and with
volumes in a Data Reduction Pool (DRP) operations
like "backup", "TSM backup", and "query", fail with the
following error:
FMM6981E Received an error from the adapter:
-> Illegal SVC vdisk status string value: deleting
Trace messages do not reveal more information.
None of the source and target volumes used by IBM Spectrum
Protect Snapshot are in a "deleting" state in the IBM SAN
Volume Controller.

The SVCDTA adapter has been fixed so that Spectrum Protect
Snapshot for Unix will correctly work with IBM SVC storage
systems where Data Reduction Pool is configured. |
