INTERMITTENT NETWORK CONNECTIVITY MAY LEAD TO RSS SERVER SHUTDOWN
product: | |
INFORMIX SERVER / 5725A3900 / B70 - IDS 11.70
Problem description: | |
An RSS server may shutdown whilst establishing a connection to the primary server if there is a problem with the network connection. The messages appearing in the online log may be of the form: 03:00:45 RSS: Lost connection to svr_primary 03:00:55 RSS: Reconnected to svr_primary 03:01:10 SMX thread is exiting 03:01:12 DR:Shutting down the server. 03:01:15 The Master Daemon Died 03:01:15 PANIC: Attempting to bring system down There are multiple causes for the RSS server to shutdown in this manner. Many of these causes, such as a mismatch in certain onconfig parameters between primary and RSS server, are accompanied by an explanatory message in the online message log. Where there are no additional messages then a problem with the network connection is one of the more likely causes.
