RUNNING ARCHECKER AGAINST ARCHIVE OF SYSTEM WITH SMART BLOB SPACES CAN CORE DUMP AND/OR RESULT IN ERROR MESSAGES IN AC_MSGPATH

| Problem description: |
If you try to archecker an archive with smart blob data, it's
possible for archecker to look at pages it shouldn't be which
can cause core dumps in archecker or other various odd messages
like these in the AC_MSGPATH file:

The stack trace for archecker when it core dumped when looking
at a page was this:
arc_tstbit()
arc_mark_page()
Arc_process_page()
Arc_Scan_Tapes()
arc_check_level()
main()
This was due to an unfortunately valid chunk number in what
archecker thought was a page header, but the offset was larger
then the chunk which caused it to try and access the bitmap out
of bounds which caused a SEGV and thus produce a core file. |
