MEMORY LEAK IN "GLOBAL" MEMORY POOL
product: | |
INFORMIX SERVER / 5725A3900 / C10 - IDS 12.10
Problem description: | |
Starting in 12.10.xC7 the server could encounter a memory leak in the global memory pool. You can see this via onstat -g mem reporting a large global pool: Pool Summary: name class addr totalsize freesize #allocfrag #freefrag ... RA_req_2993 V 6a50c028 4096 1832 2 1 global V 4722d028 2059264000 12649288 22922651 176122 89 V 49b00028 40960 912 64 3 ... You can see in the above output the global pool is ~2Gb in size. If you then run onstat -g afr global | awk '{print %5}' | sort | uniq -c (and then sort it again) you will see the following file name/line number should dominate the memory allocations: 165 rstrans.c:8867 167 rstrans.c:8871 21879369 rstrans.c:8875 1 sapimem.c:291 49 session.c:238 349 session.c:572 2 socdevpoll.c:589 From the above the memory allocation at rstrans.c:8875 has over 21 million allocations.
