Informix - Problem description
Problem IT20026 | Status: Closed |
TRANSACTION COMMIT MAY BE DELAYED WHEN USING BUFFERED LOG DATABASE WITH HDR
product: | |
INFORMIX SERVER / 5725A3900 / C10 - IDS 12.10
Problem description: | |
The commit of a transaction may be delayed when the database uses the buffered log mode and HDR is active. Furthermore these onconfig parameter settings are required: DRINTERVAL 0 HDR_TXN_SCOPE NEAR_SYNC The delay occurs when the COMMIT logical log record is written to the last page of the logical log. During this time the stack of the sqlexec thread will show: yield_processor_mvp logm_flush logflush hdrSyncTxnMode proxyWaitForAllNodesFromPrimary rscommit iscommit sqiscommit sqcommit aud_sqcommit excommand sq_execute sqmain listen_verify spawn_thread th_init_initgls startup The commit operation will complete when an action by another thread, for example a checkpoint or a transaction commit for a database with unbuffered logging, causes the logical log buffer to be flushed.
