Informix - Problem description

Problem IT20684 Status: Closed

MUTEX RELATED MEMORY LEAK IN MT POOL

product:
IFMX ULT WHSE E / IM0019BOS / C10 - IDS 12.10
Problem description:
After the Informix server has been running for a while the
amount of memory allocated to the mt memory pool may become very
large and continue to grow. This can be seen using the onstat -g
mem command.

By comparing successive outputs from the onstat -g amx command
it can be seen that the number of mutexes for "sqscb->spa_cache"
continues to grow. This can be observed with the command:

onstat -g amx | awk '{print $3}' | sort | uniq -c | sort -rn

For example:

2077 sqscb->spa_cache
1226 centry
 429 AIOreq
 293 hash
 244 pctypecache
 244 pccastcache
 128 gfile
...

This problem is similar to, but distinct from, APAR IT19869.
