DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC83137 Status: Closed

the following commands fail "db2cluster -cfs -[enter/exit]
-maintenance" when using gpfs version 3.4 with db2_v98fp4

Problem description:
Customer can encounter an error while entering/exiting the cfs 
maintenance mode using the command 
/opt/IBM/db2/ese_dsf/V9.8/bin/db2cluster -cfs -enter 
-maintenance 
 
the following error message is outputted: 
Unable to enter file system maintenance mode on the local host. 
See the DB2 Information Center for more details. 
A diagnostic log has been saved to 
'/tmp/ibm.db2.cluster.***'. 
 
inside the error file '/tmp/ibm.db2.cluster.***' you can find 
the following error log points

The root cause of this issue is that gpfs version 3.4 is not 
supported with 
db2 v98 fix pack 4. 
 
Solution : upgrade db2 to  fix pack 5
