V9.5 FP3 or earlier works as:

1. $ db2 connect to sample user db2inst1
2. Hit [Enter]
-> This gives you a prompt, entering password as:
-----
Enter current password for db2inst1:
-----
3. Hit [Ctrl]+[C]
-> This go back to the UNIX command prompt.
But V9.5 FP4 and V9.5 FP5 works as:
------------------------
1. $ db2 connect to sample user db2inst1
2. Hit [Enter]
-> This gives you a prompt as:
-----
Enter current password for db2inst1:
-----
3. Hit [Ctrl]+[C]
-> This does go back to the UNIX prompt without the carriage
return followed. | |
