DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC76006 Status: Closed

DB2INIDB COMMAND DOES NOT DISPLAY PROPER ERROR MESSAGE.

Problem description:
'db2inidb' command throws following error message in case of any 
failure when issued with 'RELOCATE USING <config_file>' clause. 
 
$ db2inidb test as snapshot relocate using /..../config.out 
Relocating database... 
Unable to relocate database, cannot continue. 
$ 
 
It doesn't tell you why it is failing. It should display the 
appropriate error message.

Local Fix:
You can get proper error message by running 'db2relocatedb' 
command with same config file as used in 'db2inidb' command as 
below: 
$ db2relocatedb -f config.out 
 
This command displays proper error message from the current 
config.out file.
