DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC97748 Status: Closed

DB2INSTDEF IS SET BY DEFAULT DURING INSTANCE CREATION EVEN IF NON-WINDOWS
PLATFORMS.

Problem description:
DB2INSTDEF may be set by default in non-Windows platforms during 
instance creation. 
Information Center says the variable is applicable to Windows 
only, so the variable should be set by default in Windows only.

Local Fix:
Unix/Linux users can safely ignore DB2INSTDEF registry variable. 
The DB2INSTDEF settings can be removed by the following command 
run by root: 
# db2set -g DB2INSTDEF=
available fix packs:
DB2 Version 10.1 Fix Pack 4 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows
DB2 Version 10.1 Fix Pack 6 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows

Solution
This problem was first fixed in DB2 V10.1 FixPack.
