DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC99315 Status: Closed

QUERY PERFORMANCE MAY BE POOR IN A FEDERATED DPF ENVIRONMENT FOR QUERIES
INVOLVING THE LATERAL KEYWORD IN THE STATEMENT TEXT

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A50 - DB2
Problem description:
Query performance may be poor in a Federated DPF environment for
queries involving the LATERAL keyword in the statement text.

Affected queries would typically contain the LATERAL keyword for
a sub-select of the query, an ORDER BY clause within the
subselect along with predicates containing references to outer
sub-selects, tables or nicknames from the query.

The output from db2exfmt will typically show a FILTER operation
above the SHIP operations containing the correlated predicate.
