DS CLIENT 'DB2UNINS' FAILS: UNABLE TO OPEN THE WINDOWS INSTALLER
DATABASE 'DB2WINDOWSIBM DATA SERVER CLIENT.MSI'. RC=1638

Problem description:
Executing 'db2unins' from the IBM Data Server Client v10.1 FP4 
image fails with this message: 
 
Unable to open the Windows installer database 'db2\Windows\IBM 
Data Server Client.msi'. The return code is 1638. 
 
There is no log file generated. 
 
The problem does not occur if you use a DB2 10.1 FP4 Server 
image 
instead.
