You may receive SQL0901N error when using transparent DDL
without REMOTE_SERVER option.
Reproducing scripts:
CREATE TABLE T1(C1 INT) OPTIONS (REMOTE_SCHEMA
'<your_remote_schema>', REMOTE_TABNAME
'<your_remote_table_name>')
DB21034E The command was processed as an SQL statement because
it was not a
valid Command Line Processor command. During SQL processing it
returned:
SQL0901N The SQL statement failed because of a non-severe
system error.
Subsequent SQL statements can be processed. (Reason "No remote
server
given".) SQLSTATE=58004
