DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A50 - DB2

If the application code page is not UTF-8 then you might get 
errors when you run DB2 Text Search commands. 
For example, when you run the command: 
 db2ts UPDATE INDEX <index-name> FOR TEXT 
replacing <index-name> with the name of a text search index, you 
might get this error: 
 SQL20427N  An error occurred during a text search 
administration procedure or command. The error message is 
"CIE0341E Update index errors. [...]"

As a workaround you can configure the operating system so that 
the application code page is UTF-8. 
 
For example, on AIX you can do that by logging in as root and 
running smit, then selecting: 
 System Environments -> 
 Manage Language Environment -> 
 Change/Show Primary Language Environment -> 
 Change/Show Cultural Convention, Language, or Keyboard 
then enter Esc+4 to List the available cultural conventions, 
highlight one for which the code page is UTF-8, and press Enter 
to accept it. 
Then reboot the machine in order for the change to take effect.

First fixed in DB2 LUW v10.5 FixPack 7.
