Problem IT07475 Status: Geschlossen

DB2LOOK MAY TRAP WHEN EXTRACTING DDL FOR GLOBAL VARIABLES MIGRATED FROM
VERSION 9.5

Produkt:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problembeschreibung:
A database upgraded from version 9.5 will not contain the DDL
text for global variables as part of their descriptors. When
db2look is run to extract the DDL for these variables it may
trap or simply not produce any output for them.

e.g.
$ db2look -d sample -a -e -x -o db2look.out
-- Generate statistics for all creators
-- Creator ID is ignored
-- Creating DDL for table(s)
-- Output is sent to file: db2look.out
Segmentation Fault - core dumped

From the stack from the core dump will be something similar to:

strlen
_ndoprnt
_fprintf
create_variable_ddl
create_ddl
main

Local-Fix:
Drop and recreate the global variables. If the definitions are
not known, you can fabricate new CREATE statements from the
information in the packed descriptor displayed by db2cat:
db2cat -d <dbname> -s <schema> -n <variable name> -p variable -t
Lösung
Firstly fixed on DB2 V97 Fixpack 11.
