DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC65247 Status: Closed

SQL901 ERROR when unable to connect

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 950 - DB2
Problem description:
DB2 could hit the SQL0901N error and unable to connect to the
database.

The SQL901 means "Not enough memory reclaimed for 1 buffer"
and "numPageHdrLeftToAlloc should be >0"

This problem will only happen on systems that are severely
short of memory. You should investigate the memory shortage
situation.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
* The following error can happen when we are short on memory *
* (sortheap) and we need to do special processing in order to *
* finish while constrained on memory. *
* With the fix DB2 will proceed. As long as we get minimum *
* memory required, DB2 will return result back to the user. *
* If even minimum memory required could not be obtained then *
* different, more descriptive, error will be returned. *
*                                                              *
