SELF JOIN WITH COMMITTED READ CAN RETURN WRONG ROWS (TOO MANY) WHEN INSERTS ARE HAPPENING ON TABLE

The query plan shows an index self join is happening:
select no_fi from f_nf_m where no_fi = 442635
Estimated Cost: 7
Estimated # of Rows Returned: 3

Index Keys: em no_fi s_no_fi
client s_no_fi (Key-Only) (Serial, fragments: ALL)
Index Self Join Keys (em )
Lower Index Filter: informix.f_nf_m.em =
informix.f_nf_m.em AND
informix.f_nf_m.no_fi = 442635
The query should return 3 rows, but if you run it in a loop with
committed read isolation
while inserts are happening on the table, you may see more than
3 rows returned:
