RSS CONNECTION MESSAGES NEED TO BE MORE INFORMATIVE AND INCLUDE FAILURE ERROR CODES

The current behaviour is as follows:
07/02/21 09:36:49 DR: new type = RSS
07/02/21 09:37:50 DR: Trying to connect to server,
primary_server. If the specified server is not in Online mode,
bring it to Online mode.
07/02/21 09:37:50 Data replication type and state information
reset. To start DR, use the 'onmode -d' command and wait for the
pair to be operational, before shutting down the database server
As can been seen, the request to make this an RSS server was
issued and after 61 seconds the message stating trying to
connect was produced; this message should be produced when the
request to make this an RSS server is issued. Currently, the
message is produced after what appears to be INFORMIXCONTIME
default (i.e. 60 seconds).
If the request to make the RSS server FAILS, then there should
be a message stating "unable to connect to the primary, please
confirm primary online AND re-issue the request to make this an
RSS". Currently there is no reporting of error codes for
establishing a potential cause of failure to connect to the
PRIMARY. |
