ONMODE -D STANDARD ON A PRIMARY WITH AN INCORRECTLY DEFINED HDR SECONDARY HUNG FOREVER

| Problem description: |
Given an HA environment with a database server instance where an
RSS is attached to.
This is an operational environment. The DBA goal was to promote
the RSS to a HDR sec server.
The RSS/new HDR has 2 dbservernames defined on, as one in the
DBSERVERNAME and one in the
DBSERVERALIASES. The operational RSS used the name from the
DBSERVERALIASES which is also
the HA_ALIAS.
Unfortunately onmode -d primary was used to
define the HDR secondary
which was not the HA_ALIAS server.
The new HDR server is seen in the configuration in addition to
the RSS but showed disconnected as a
status. Any attempts to drop the new HDR server which an onmode
-d standard was not successful.
The onmode statement was hung forever |
