VARIOUS MEMORY CORRUPTION WITH STMT_CACHE AND EXT_DIRECTIVES AREENABLED
product: | |
INFORMIX SERVER / 5725A3900 / C10 - IDS 12.10
Problem description: | |
This problem is introduced into 12.10.FC15/14.10.FC5 with the fix for APAR IT33659. The server will have STMT_CACHE and EXT_DIRECTIVES enabled as shown below: STMT_CACHE 2 EXT_DIRECTIVES 2 The memory corruption can cause any number of assertions but common assertions include memory block header corruption. One thing to look for to help identify this defect when statement cache is turned on and external directives are enable is the memory corruption will typically look shifted by a byte or possibly a few bytes. Without a shared memory dump, this can sometimes be obvious in an assertion failure file that reports memory block header corruption as the surrounding memory is dumped into the file.
