Informix - Problem description
Problem IT45048 | Status: Closed |
CONTINUAL UPDATE OF SYSPROCPLAN ENTRIES FOR STORED PROCEDURES QUERYING TABLES WITH PARTIAL INDEXES
product: | |
INFORMIX SERVER / 5725A3900 / E10 -
Problem description: | |
When a query within a stored procedure makes reference to a table containing a partial index, the query will be re-optimized on each execution of the procedure. The re-optimization will usually result in the rows within the sysprocplan system catalog that relate to that part of the procedure being dropped and rewritten. When the procedure is executed frequently, or by many user sessions, the resulting catalog updates generate a large amount of logical log traffic which may have performance implications for secondary servers.
