IBM Preisanpassungen für Software zum 01.01.2018

Wie in den letzten Jahren, kündigt IBM zum Jahreswechsel eine Preisanpassung für das Software-Portfolio an. Davon betroffen sind auch die Informix und Db2 Produkte, Neulizenzen und Renewals. Die Preisanpassung liegt für den Vertrieb innerhalb der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, in der Regel bei einer Erhöhung von etwa 3%.

Pradeep Muthalpuredathe / Director - WW Informix Engineering

Pradeep Muthalpuredathe stellt auf dem Informix Technologietag die Grundlagen der Zusammenarbeit zwischen IBM und HCL sowie Roadmap für die kommenden Jahre vor.

HCL hat die Bereiche Entwicklung und Support zum 1. Mai übernommen. Der größte Teil der Entwicklungs- und Supportmitarbeiter hat einem Wechsel zu HCL zugestimmt, so dass für Kunden die gewohnten Ansprechpartner und bestehenden Strukturen weiter zur Verfügung stehen.

Für IBM Informix Kunden ändert sich nichts in der Lizenzierung oder im Bezug von Maintenance, IBM bleibt hier weiterhin Lizenzgeber.

Wir haben Informix Anwender, IBM Partner und Mitarbeiter nach ihrer Einschätzung zur IBM/HCL Partnerschaft befragt. Die Antworten waren sehr positiv. Die langfristige Vereinbarung zwischen beiden Unternehmen ist eine gute Perspektive für die Zukunft von Informix.

• Informix Development and support teams will move to HCL and HCL will further accelerate Informix development work.

• Nothing changes for existing customers - and there is a guarantee for next 15 years of continued Informix availability, enhancements and support.

• IBM did not sell the IP, not the product, not the source code - we did not sell the Informix business.

• IBM remains the point of contact for sales, contracting, licensing, pricing, support towards customers. IBM product lifecycle policies remain unchanged for Informix.

IBM and HCL Strategic Partnership to
jointly develop and market IBM Informix (April-17-2017)

I have some very exciting news to share with you today. I am very pleased to announce that IBM and HCL are entering a strategic partnership to jointly develop and market the IBM Informix family of products.

We are building on a history of collaboration between the two companies. The new partnership combines IBM’s large Informix customer base and global sales force with HCL’s leadership in the IT services sector – accelerating the investments, evolution and adoption of Informix as a leading database – and further address the needs of an embedded database.

Effective May 1, 2017, HCL will take over development and support of the Informix product family. Product strategy, marketing and sales efforts continue to be led by IBM with HCL participating and expanding routes to market. Experience for customers remains unchanged. Existing customer agreements, first point of contact, new licenses or extensions to existing entitlements continue to be through IBM.

Let me close by expressing again my personal excitement about this new partnership as it will lead to new innovations, more delighted clients and more opportunities for our employees and partners.
