Program-unique Terms

Definitions

Client Device

A Client Device is a computing device that requests the execution of a set of commands, procedures, or applications from another computer system that is typically referred to as a server. Multiple Client Devices may share access to a common server. A Client Device generally has some processing capability or is programmable to allow a user to do work. Examples include, but are not limited to, notebook computers, desktop computers, deskside computers, technical workstations, appliances, cell phones, blackberry devices, automated teller machines (ATMs), point-of-sale terminals, tills and cash registers, and kiosks. A Proof of Entitlement (PoE) must be obtained for each Client Device accessing the program in any manner.

Server

Server is a unit of measure by which the Program can be licensed. A Server is a physical computer that is comprised of processing units, memory, and input/output capabilities and that executes requested procedures, commands, or applications for one or more users or client devices. Where racks, blade enclosures, or other similar equipment is being deployed, each separable physical device (e.g., a blade or a rack-mounted device) that has the required components is considered itself a separate Server. For the purpose of Server-based licensing, Licensee must obtain entitlements for each Server which is made available to or is managed by the Program, regardless of the number of processor cores and/or partitions in the Server or the number of copies of the Program on the Server.

Socket

A "Socket" is electronic circuitry that accepts a processor chip. A "processor chip" is electronic circuitry containing one or more processor cores that plugs into a Socket. A "processor core" is a functional unit within a computing device that interprets and executes program instructions, and consists of at least an instruction control unit and one or more arithmetic or logic units.

Hot/Active Standby

In a Hot/Active Standby configuration, the Program is operational on the Primary Server and each Standby/Active Server to service user transactions or queries. Because each of the Hot Standby/Active Servers is used to operate the Program for active read and/or write transactions or queries before and after a failure, the Program must be fully licensed on all active Servers.

You must be licensed under the Processor Value Unit (PVU), Concurrent Session, Authorized User, or Limited Use (LU) Socket charge metric. When in Hot/Active Standby under the PVU metric, You must license the Program for the number of processor cores attached or available to the Hot/Active Standby Server(s). For example, consider an environment with two Servers, one Primary Server with four hundred (400) Processor Value Units (PVU) and one Hot/Active Standby Server with two hundred (200) PVUs. This environment must be licensed for six hundred (600) PVUs (four hundred (400) PVUs for the Primary Server and two hundred (200) PVUs for the Hot/Active Standby Server).

The LU Socket metric is only available to the IDS Workgroup Edition Socket Option Program.

When in Hot/Active Standby under the LU Socket metric on the IDS Workgroup Edition Socket Option, You must license the Program for the number of LU Sockets attached or available to the Hot/Active Standby Server(s). For example, consider an environment with two Servers, one Primary Server with four (4) LU Sockets and one Hot/Active Standby Server with two (2) LU Sockets. This environment must be licensed for six (6) LU Sockets (four (4) LU Sockets for the Primary Server and two (2) LU Sockets for the Hot/Active Standby Server).

When in Hot/Active Standby under the Concurrent Session or Authorized User metric, You must acquire the number of Concurrent Session or Authorized User entitlements for each Hot/Active Standby Server as you would if the Hot/Active Standby Server were a Primary Server, including meeting the minimum required per Server. See the sections on Charge Metrics under the Level of Use portion of this LI below.

For example:

a) consider an environment with three Servers, two Primary each with one hundred (100) Concurrent Sessions on the IDS Enterprise Edition, and two copies of the Program on one Hot/Active Standby Server each with fifty (50) Concurrent Sessions, This environment must be licensed for total of three hundred (300) Concurrent Sessions (100 on each of the Primary and 50 on each of the two copies of the Program on one Hot/Active Standby) on the Enterprise Edition.

b) consider an environment with three Servers, two Primary each with one hundred fifty (150) Authorized Users on the IDS Enterprise Edition, and two copies of the Program on one (1) Hot/Active Standby Server with twenty-five (25) Authorized Users assigned to one copy of the Program, and twenty (20) Authorized Users assigned to the other copy of the Program.. This environment must be licensed for total of three hundred fifty (350) Authorized Users (150 on each Primary and 25 (the minimum required) on each of the two copies of the Program on one Hot/Active Standby) on the Enterprise Edition.

Idle Standby

In an Idle Standby configuration, Idle Standby Server(s) have the Program installed, however, they do not have the Program operational to service active read and/or write transactions or query workloads. A Server is considered "idle" if it is used exclusively for administrative actions that assist in failover scenarios such as having a database in rollforward pending state to support log shipping, or in making a copy of an Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) database and then performing a database backup of this copy on another Server, or in keeping a standby database synchronized using the High-availability Data Replication (HDR) component. A Server is also considered "idle" if it is used exclusively in support of log shipping for database restore using the Continuous Log Restore function.

The LU Socket metric is only available to the IDS Workgroup Edition Socket Option Program.

You may be licensed under the Processor Value Unit, Concurrent Session, Authorized User, or LU Socket charge metric. When a Program is used in Idle Standby, You must acquire the number of license entitlements for each copy (i.e. each and every instance) of the Program on each Idle Standby Server as indicated below, using the same charge metric as used for the Program on the corresponding Primary Server.

(1) one hundred (100) PVUs for IDS Workgroup or Enterprise Edition
(2) five (5) Concurrent Sessions or five (5) Authorized Users for IDS Workgroup Edition
(3) ten (10) Concurrent Sessions or twenty-five (25) Authorized Users for IDS Enterprise Edition
(4) one (1) one LU Socket for IDS Workgroup Edition Socket Option

For example:

a) when Processor Value Unit is the applicable charge metric, consider an environment with three Servers, two Primary Servers each with four hundred (400) Processor Value Units (PVU) and two copies of the Program on one Idle Standby Server with two hundred (200) PVUs. This environment must be licensed for one thousand (1,000) PVUs (four hundred (400) PVUs must be acquired for each of the two the Primary Servers and one hundred (100) PVUs must be acquired for each of the two copies of the Program on one Idle Standby Server).

b) when Concurrent Session or Authorized User is the applicable charge metric for the Workgroup Edition, consider an environment with three Servers, two Primary Servers each with one hundred (100) Concurrent Sessions or Authorized Users, and two copies of the Program on one Idle Standby Server. Each copy of the Program on the one Idle Standby Server will require entitlements to either five (5) Concurrent Sessions or five (5) Authorized Users, as applicable. This environment must be licensed for total of two hundred ten (210) Concurrent Sessions or Authorized Users on the Workgroup Edition, and the Program on each Primary Server may not exceed 100 Concurrent Sessions or Authorized Users without acquiring additional entitlements.

c) when LU Socket is the applicable charge metric on the IDS Workgroup Edition, consider an environment with three Servers, two Primary Servers each with four (4) LU Sockets and two copies of the Program on one Idle Standby Server with two (2) LU Sockets. This environment must be licensed for ten (10) LU Sockets (four (4) LU Sockets must be acquired for each of the two the Primary Servers and one (1) LU Socket must be acquired for each of the two copies of the Program on one Idle Standby Server).

Cold Standby

In a Cold Standby configuration, Cold Standby Server(s) have the Program installed, however they do not have the Program started or operational. The Program is installed for backup purposes only on the Cold Standby Server(s).

You may be licensed under the Processor Value Unit, Concurrent Session, Authorized User or LU Socket charge metric. When in Cold Standby, there is no charge for the Cold Standby Server(s). For example, when Processor Value Unit is the applicable charge metric, consider an environment with two Servers, one Primary Server with four hundred (400) Processor Value Units (PVU) and one Cold Standby Server with two hundred (200) PVUs. This environment must be licensed for four hundred (400) PVUs for the Primary Server; no PVUs are required on the Cold Standby Server.

The LU Socket metric is only available to the IDS Workgroup Edition Socket Option Program.

When LU Socket is the applicable charge metric on the Workgroup Edition, consider an environment with two Servers, one Primary Server with four (4) LU Sockets and one Cold Standby Server with two (2) LU Sockets. This environment must be licensed for four (4) LU Sockets for the Primary Server; no LU Sockets entitlements are required on the Cold Standby Server.

When Concurrent Session or Authorized User is the applicable charge metric on the Workgroup Edition, consider an environment with two Servers, one Primary with ten (10) Concurrent Sessions or Authorized Users, and one Cold Standby Server, The Cold Standby Server does not require any proof of entitlement (PoE) for the purpose of maintaining a backup copy of the Program in cold standby, This environment must be licensed for total of ten (10) Concurrent Sessions or Authorized Users on the Workgroup Edition.

Level of Use

Your use of a Program may not exceed the level defined by the number of use authorizations You have acquired, as evidenced in Your Proof of Entitlement (PoE). Each edition of the Program is available for licensing in accordance with one or more of the following levels of use:

1) Charge Metrics

The IBM Informix Dynamic Server Enterprise Edition Unlimited Users V11.50 is available for licensing only on a Processor Value Unit charge metric basis, as specified below. The IBM Informix Dynamic Server Workgroup Edition Unlimited Users V11.50 is available for licensing only on a Processor Value Unit charge metric basis, as specified below. The Informix Dynamic Server Workgroup Edition Socket Option is available for licensing only on a Limited Use Socket charge metric basis, as specified below. The IBM Informix Dynamic Server Enterprise Edition V11.50 and the IBM Informix Dynamic Server Workgroup Edition V11.50 are available for licensing only on either an Authorized User charge metric basis or a Concurrent Session charge metric basis, as specified below.

Consult Your Proof of Entitlement (PoE) to determine which charge metric terms apply to the Program You have licensed. The charge metric is specific to the part number that has been purchased.

1.1) The following applies to any version of an IBM Informix Dynamic Server Enterprise Edition V11.50 or the IBM Informix Dynamic Server Workgroup Edition V11.50 Program used solely in a development environment.

If the Program is used only in a development environment, there is no minimum Authorized User or Concurrent Session license entitlement requirement. You must only acquire entitlements to the actual number of Authorized Users or Concurrent Sessions You use. Use in a development environment is limited to the purposes of developing, evaluating, demonstrating, and testing application programs, and for no other purpose.

1.2) Authorized User - If You acquire a Program based on this Charge Metric, then the terms of this Section apply.

You must acquire a separate Authorized User license entitlement for each Authorized User of the Program installed on each individual Server as described above.

Authorized User: An Authorized User is one and only one individual with a specific identity within or outside Your enterprise. A PoE is required for each Authorized User accessing the Program or any Program component on a single Server either directly or indirectly through any means. An example of "indirect" access would be through a multiplexing program, Client Device, or application server. For a single Authorized User to access the Program on more than one Server, additional PoEs must be acquired and each PoE must be based on the charge metric associated with the Program being accessed.

The Program can be accessed by multiple Authorized Users provided that an Authorized User license entitlement has been obtained for each individual. An Authorized User's ID is unique to the uniquely identified individual and cannot be shared with or used by others or transferred. A single Authorized User ID, however, is entitled to establish one or more connections to the Program (but only on a single Server for each entitlement), each for use solely by the identified Authorized User, and only the single Authorized User entitlement is required. If an Authorized User makes connections to other IDS data servers (or to this Program residing on a separate Server), additional PoE(s) must be acquired for those connections using the charge metric for those other IDS data servers or for the other Program.

Each separate individual that uses a connection, directly or indirectly, made to this Program through the Intranet (connections from within Your Enterprise) or through the Internet (connection from outside Your Enterprise) must be counted as a separate Authorized User and a separate entitlement must be acquired for such Authorized User.

The following minimum Authorized User requirement applies to licenses to the IDS Enterprise Edition V11.50:

The Program must be licensed for, and PoE acquired for, the greater of (a) at least twenty-five (25) Authorized Users per Server on which the Program is installed or (b) the total number of Authorized Users accessing the Program.

The following minimum Authorized User requirement applies to licenses to the IDS Workgroup Edition V11.50:

The Program must be licensed for, and PoE acquired for, the greater of (a) at least five (5) Authorized Users per Server on which You install the Program or (b) the total number of Authorized Users accessing the Program.

1.3) Concurrent Session - If You acquire a Program based on this Charge Metric, then the terms of this Section apply.

A Concurrent Session is a logical connection made between the Program (residing on a single Server) and a Client Device. Each such connection is counted as a Concurrent Session whether or not it is actually in use and regardless of the duration of the connection and/or period(s) of activity. If an individual end user establishes multiple connections, each one is counted as a separate Concurrent Session, even if they share a common physical pathway. From the day You began using the Program, the highest number of connections ever established at any time for each copy (i.e., instance) of the Program on each Server will be counted for purposes of determining the total Concurrent Session entitlements required. You must acquire entitlements for the greatest number of logical connections ever established at any time for all Program instances on each Server. See the example below.

Each logical connection made between a Client Device and a copy of the Program residing on a Server is counted as a Concurrent Session for which an entitlement is required. For example, if copies of the Program reside on 2 different Servers and a single Client Device is connected to the Program on both Servers, then two (2) Concurrent Sessions have been established and a PoE must be acquired for each of them. As a further example, if four copies of the Program reside on 2 different Servers and a single Client Device is connected to each of the four instances of the Program, the four (4) Concurrent Sessions have been established and a PoE must be acquired for each of them.

Each logical connection from a Client Device made, directly or indirectly, to this Program (residing on a single Server), through the Intranet (connections from within Your Enterprise) or through the Internet (connections from outside Your Enterprise) is counted as a separate Concurrent Session and a separate entitlement (PoE) must be acquired for such Concurrent Session.

A PoE is required for each Concurrent Session established to access the Program or any Program component either directly or indirectly through any means. An example of "indirect" access would be through a multiplexing program, Client Device, or application server. The number of connections is not reduced by any program, Client Device, or machine, such as a front-end server, application server, or multiplexer, which may be used to connect, manage, and/or concentrate the logical connections.

For example, if You install one or more copies (i.e., instances) of the Program on each of three (3) Servers and from the day You begin using the Program, the greatest number of Concurrent Sessions ever established on the total Program instances on Server 1 was twelve (12), on Server 2 was seventy (70), and on Server 3 was eighty-nine (89), then You must acquire, and pay for, PoE entitlements for one hundred and seventy-one (171) Concurrent Sessions, even if the number of Your logical connections decreases over time (e.g, logical connections are reduced to the following: Server 1: 12; Server 2: 56; Server 3: 80). Of course, You may subsequently again increase Your total number of logical connections to one hundred-seventy-one (171) without needing to acquire additional Concurrent Session entitlements; provided that you do not increase the number of logical connections on any one of the Servers beyond the highest number of logical connections ever previously established on that Server. In this example, You could again increase the logical connections on Server 2 up to 70, and could increase the logical connections on Server 3 up to 89, without needing to acquire additional Concurrent Session entitlements. However, if You increased the number of logical connections on Server 1 to 25, even though the number of logical connections on Servers 2 and 3 remained at 56 and 80, respectively, You would need to acquire an additional 13 Concurrent Session entitlements for Server 1 (bringing Your total entitlements to one hundred and eighty-four (184)). Concurrent Sessions are not equivalent to concurrent users.

Each batch process being executed at the same time is also considered to be a Concurrent Session.

You must acquire a separate Concurrent Session license entitlement for each Concurrent Session as described above.

The following minimum Concurrent Sessions requirement applies to licenses to the Informix Warehouse Enterprise Edition V11.50 and Informix Warehouse Feature for Enterprise Edition V11.50:

The Program must be licensed for, and PoE acquired for, the greater of (a) at least ten (10) Concurrent Sessions per Server on which the Program is installed or (b) the total number of Concurrent Sessions accessing the Program.

The following minimum Concurrent Sessions requirement applies to licenses to the Informix Warehouse Workgroup Edition V11.50 and Informix Warehouse Feature for Workgroup Edition V11.50:

The Program must be licensed for, and PoE acquired for, the greater of (a) at least five (5) Concurrent Sessions per Server on which You install the Program; or, (b) the total number of Concurrent Sessions accessing the Program.

1.4) Processor Value Unit (PVU) - If You acquire a Program based on this Charge Metric, then the terms of this Section apply.

The Processor Value Unit (PVU) is a unit of measure by which the Program can be licensed. Proofs of Entitlement for PVUs are based on processor technology (defined within the PVU Table by Processor Vendor, Brand, Type and Model Number at http://www.ibm.com/software/lotus/passportadvantage/pvu_licensing_for_customers.html). IBM continues to define a processor, for the purpose of PVU-based licensing, to be each processor core on a chip.

Licensee must obtain entitlements sufficient to cover every activated processor core* in the environment which is made available to or is managed by the Program. Unless the Program is sub-capacity eligible and Licensee has deployed the Program according to the Passport Advantage Sub-Capacity Licensing Terms (see http://www.ibm.com/software/lotus/passportadvantage/subcaplicensing.html), the Licensee must obtain entitlements sufficient to cover all activated processor cores* in the physical hardware environment.

* "Activated processor cores" are processor cores that are available for use in a physical or virtual server. When the Program is not licensed and deployed under the Sub-Capacity Licensing Terms, the physical hardware environment includes all processor cores:

1. that are activated (available for use) when the server is shipped by the manufacturer or

2. that are activated subsequently through activation codes purchased from the server manufacturer by the customer;

in each case, regardless of whether the capacity of the processor cores can be or is limited through virtualization technologies, operating system commands, BIOS settings, or similar restrictions.

1.5) Limited Use Socket (LU Socket)

The LU Socket charge metric is only available to the Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) Workgroup Edition Socket Option V11.50 Program.

This Program is licensed on a Limited Use Socket ("LU Socket") basis as follows. You must: (1) acquire one LU Socket entitlement for each Socket on the Server on which the Program is installed; and (2) comply with the resource use restrictions further defined below in this License Information.

This Program is eligible for sub-capacity licensing, and You may be permitted to license less than all Sockets on the Server. Sub-capacity licensing terms, conditions and eligibility requirements for LU Socket-charged products are described at: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/smb/pdfs/LicensingGuide.pdf. If Your use of the Program is not eligible for sub-capacity licensing based on these terms and conditions, You must acquire LU Socket entitlements for all Sockets on the Server on which the Program is installed. The LU Socket entitlements are specific to the Program and may not be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with LU Socket entitlements of another software program.

2) IDS Workgroup Programs Usage Restrictions

The following restrictions apply to licenses to Informix Dynamic Server Workgroup Edition V11.50, Informix Dynamic Server Workgroup Edition Socket Option V11.50, and Informix Dynamic Server Workgroup Edition Unlimited Users V11.50 Programs.

2.1) Server Limitation - If You license the Program on a Processor Value Unit, Authorized User or Concurrent Session basis, You may not install or use the Program on a Server that has a capacity of more than four hundred eighty (480) Processor Value Units (PVUs); provided, however, that You can install and use the Program on a SINGLE physical, logical, or virtual partition within a Server that has a capacity of more than four hundred eighty (480) PVUs as long as the SINGLE partition in which the Program is installed does not have a capacity of more than four hundred eighty (480) PVUs. If you have the Program on multiple partitions within a single Server, you must of course pay for the total number of PVUs, Authorized Users, or Concurrent Sessions covering all the copies of the Program.

Where a physical, logical, or virtual partition is used, it must be created with an approved IBM eligible partitioning technology. See list of eligible technologies in: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/passportadvantage/SubCapacity/Eligible_Virtualization_Technology.pdf

2.1.1) Socket Limitation - If You license the Program on a LU Socket basis, You may not install or use the Program on a physical Server that has more than 4 Sockets and may only utilize up to a total of 16 processor cores.

2.2) Server Memory Allocation Limit - total of sixteen (16) Gigabytes of memory allocated (as reflected in the SHMTOTAL tunable parameters of the Program copies) to support use of all instances of the Program on a single Server. The sum total of all SHMTOTAL parameters set within all copies of the Program in a Server may not exceed 16 Gigabytes of allocated memory, regardless of the amount of physical memory in the physical server.

2.3) You may configure up to sixteen CPU Virtual Processors per Server

2.4) Under a license to a Program, You are not entitled to use any of the following functions:

2.4.1 - Enterprise Replication (ER), except that the function may be used as a Leafnode Server. A Leafnode Server is an Enterprise Replication server that has a limited catalog, does not contain a complete copy of the parent database, and does not replicate data to Servers other than its own parent Servers.

2.4.2 - Continuous Availability Feature

2.4.3 - High availability Data Replication (HDR) Feature, except that HDR may be used in Idle or Hot Standby Mode on up to two Remote Secondary Servers.

2.4.5 - DBSpace Prioritization during backup/restore

2.4.6 - Recovery Time Objective Policy

2.4.7 - Private Memory Cache for VP

2.4.8 - Direct I/O for Cooked Files

2.4.9 - I-STAR

2.4.10 - Parallel query

2.4.11 - High Performance Loader

3) Features/Functions - Added Charges

3.1) IDS Continuous Availability Feature

This Feature is available only for the IDS Enterprise Edition V11.50 and Enterprise Edition Unlimited Users V11.50. You must have valid entitlements covering both the Program and this Feature for all Servers upon which this Feature is installed. To use the Feature in conjunction with a Program, You must acquire the same number of entitlements using the same charge metric as You acquired for that underlying Program.

An Authorized User who is entitled to access the underlying Program on a specific Server is only authorized to access the Feature on that same Server. If such Authorized User will access the Program residing on a second Server running under IDS Enterprise Edition V11.50, then a new Authorized User entitlement must be acquired allowing access to the second Server.

A Concurrent Session that is entitled to access the underlying Program on a specific Server is only authorized to access the Feature on that same Server. If such Concurrent Session will access the Program residing on a second Server running under IDS Enterprise Edition V11.50, then a new Concurrent Session entitlement must be acquired allowing access to the second Server.

3.2) High-availability

For the Program installed, running or resident on a standby Server, there are 3 types of standby: Cold Standby, Idle Standby, Hot Standby.

3.2.1) For use of the Enterprise Edition Unlimited Users V11.50 and IDS Enterprise Edition V11.50, the following applies:

The IDS High-availability Data Replication (HDR) with Multiple Secondary Servers function is only available for use with this Program on one or more standby Servers.

There is no separate charge for use of this Feature. However, there are charges for use of the Program on standby Servers as specified below.

For use of the Program in Cold Standby, there is no additional charge, and IBM does not need to be notified.

For use of the Program in Idle Standby, see the charges specified under the Idle Standby section under Definitions above.

For use the Program in a Hot Standby, You need to acquire and pay the charge for a full Program license for each copy of the Program installed on each Hot Standby Server, see the charges specified under the Hot/Active Standby section under Definitions above.

You must acquire the entitlements on the Idle or Hot standby Servers under the same charge metric as the entitlements under which You are licensed to the Program.

All programs installed or running in standby mode must be under the customer's control, even if running at another enterprise's location.

3.2.2) For use of the IDS Workgroup Edition Unlimited Users V11.50, IDS Workgroup Edition Socket Option V11.50, and IDS Workgroup Edition V11.50, the following applies:

There is no separate charge to use the IDS High-availability Data Replication (HDR) Feature with this Program. However, You are only authorized to (1) use HDR in conjunction solely with this Program, (2) install no more than a combined total of two backup copies of HDR, on one or two standby Servers, and (3) to perform hot active read operations from the standby Server(s). Hot active write operations on the standby Servers are not available with this Program.

Additionally, there are charges for use of the Program on the standby Server as specified below.

For use of the Program in Cold Standby, there is no additional charge, and IBM does not need to be notified.

For use of the Program in Idle Standby, see the charges specified under the Idle Standby section under Definitions above.

For use the Program in Hot Standby, You need to acquire and pay the charge for a full Program license for the copy of the Program installed on the Hot Standby Server, see the charges specified under the Hot/Active Standby section under Definitions above.

You must acquire the entitlements on the Idle or Hot standby Servers under the same charge metric as the entitlements under which you are licensed to the Program.

All programs installed or running in standby mode must be under the customer's control, even if running at another enterprise's location.

3.2.3) For use of the IDS Enterprise Edition Unlimited Users V11.50, IDS Enterprise Edition V11.50, IDS Workgroup Unlimited Users V11.50, IDS Workgroup Edition Socket Option V11.50, and IDS Workgroup Edition V11.50 Programs, the following applies:

The IDS Continuous Log Restore function is available for use with the Programs when installing a single backup copy of the Program on a single Server.

There is no separate charge for use of this function. However, there are charges for use of the Program on standby Servers as specified below.

For use of the Program in Cold Standby, there is no additional charge, and IBM does not need to be notified.

For use of the Program in Idle Standby, see the charges specified under the Idle Standby section under Definitions above.

The Programs may not be used with this Feature in Hot Standby.

All programs installed or running in standby mode must be under the customer's control, even if running at another enterprise's location.

3.3) IDS Advanced Access Control Feature

Licensee is authorized to use the IDS Advanced Access Control Feature (ACCF) only to the extent of and in accordance with valid entitlements to one or more of the following Programs: IDS Workgroup Edition V11.50, IDS Workgroup Edition Unlimited Users V11.50, IDS Workgroup Edition Socket Option V11.50, IDS Enterprise Edition V11.50 and IDS Enterprise Edition Unlimited Users V11.50. The IDS Advanced Access Control Feature may not be used with any other Programs.

3.4) IDS Parallel Performance for Workgroup Feature Code Usage Entitlement

The IDS Parallel Performance for Workgroup Feature is no longer offered with the IDS Workgroup Edition, and (subject to the following exceptions) You are not permitted to use such feature code included with the Program. However, if You have previously acquired entitlements to the IDS Parallel Performance for Workgroup Feature You will, 1) retain Your existing entitlement to use the Feature in conjunction with a validly licensed current version of IDS Workgroup Edition, and, as long as You remain current with Your support for the IDS Workgroup Edition, 2) be granted an additional entitlement to use the feature code that accompanies this Program, to the extent of the existing previously purchased Feature entitlement, but such use may only be in support of (a) a deployed application or workload that was running on a current IDS Workgroup Edition as of February 10, 2009 or (b) an expanded deployment of such an application or workload. The use entitlement of the Parallel Performance for Workgroup Feature include using functions for parallel query, high performance loader, parallel index build, table/index/dbspaces partitioning, and parallel backup and restore.

This use entitlement of the Parallel Performance feature code of this Program does not extend to new applications or workload deployments, such as, for example, new workloads or applications established after February 10, 2009 running on or with any instance of this Program. For use of the Parallel Performance Feature for any such new workload or application deployments, customers must purchase or upgrade to an IDS Enterprise Edition. There is no replacement for the Parallel Performance for Workgroup Feature.

3.5) IDS Storage Optimization Feature

The IDS Storage Optimization Feature Program is not available for use with the Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) V11.50 Workgroup Edition Program and the Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) V11.50 Workgroup Edition Unlimited Users Program. An IDS Storage Optimization Feature for Enterprise Edition Program may be licensed as a Program separate from the IDS Enterprise Edition V11.50 Program and IDS Enterprise Edition V11.50 Unlimited Users Program. However, in order to use the IDS Storage Optimization Feature for Enterprise Edition Program, You must acquire (or have acquired) separately PoE entitlements for the IDS Server V11.50 Enterprise Edition Program or the IDS Server V11.50 Enterprise Edition Unlimited Users Program. You must acquire the same number of entitlements (Authorized Users, Concurrent Sessions, or Processor Value Units) for the IDS Storage Optimization Feature for Enterprise Edition Program as You have acquired for the underlying IDS Server V11.50 Enterprise Edition Programs. The IDS Server V11.50 Enterprise Edition entitlements You acquire (or have already acquired) must be licensed under the same charge metric as the IDS Optimization Feature for Enterprise Edition Program to which You acquire entitlements. For example, You may acquire entitlements to the IDS Storage Optimization Feature for Enterprise Edition on Processor Value Units (PVUs) if they are to be used with the IDS Server V11.50 for Enterprise Edition Unlimited Users licensed on a PVU basis, and You may not acquire and use entitlements to the IDS Storage Optimization Feature for Enterprise Edition on a PVU basis with the IDS Server V11.50 Enterprise Edition licensed on an Authorized User basis.

4) Program Components

The Program is made up of components, and use of any component is use of the Program. Therefore, for example, if You use one component of IBM Informix Dynamic Server on one Server, and another of its components on another Server, both Servers must be fully licensed. The number of Processor Value Units, LU Socket, Authorized Users or Concurrent Session authorizations required for IBM Informix Dynamic Server is the total of the number of entitlements (Processor Value Units, LU Socket, Authorized Users or Concurrent Sessions) required for each of its components and all components must be licensed on the same charge metric.

4.1) The following is an exception: You may, without requiring additional authorizations, install each of the following three components on additional Servers in support of Your authorized use of the Program within Your Enterprise: IBM Informix Connect Runtime, Informix ODBC, and IBM Informix JDBC. However, You must have sufficient Processor Value Units, LU Socket, Authorized User, or Concurrent Session authorizations for the Program to provide for the use of these components.

The IBM Informix Connect Runtime component may only be used for production, and may not be used for, or in conjunction with, product or program development.

5) Separate Informix Client SDK (CSDK) program

A copy of Informix CSDK program is provided along with the Program. The Informix CSDK is available for use with this Program at no additional charge but is offered with no Subscription and Support (S&S). To obtain support for the Informix CSDK, You must purchase a separate Informix CSDK entitlement (PoE) and remain current with support S&S for the Informix CSDK.

Pursuant to the Informix CSDK program license agreement which you must accept before use upon installation, the IBM Informix JDBC Embed SQL runtime libraries included the CSDK may not be used in production mode.

You must purchase a separate entitlement (PoE) when using Informix JDBC Embed SQL runtime libraries in a production environment.

6) IDS Version to Version Upgrade Support

In order to facilitate version to version upgrade from an older IDS version to one of these Programs, You may install and operate both the older version and the Program for a single period of 180 days while they are in development and test stage of a transition. You must be current on the Subscription and Support (S&S) of the product to which You are upgrading.

7) The following terms apply to the SNMP Research Intl EMANATE modules: Master Agent for 32-bit Red Hat Linux WS 3 (XS6), 64-bit Red Hat Linux 4 WS (Opteron); Subagent Development Kit for 32-bit Red Hat Linux WS 3 (X86), 64-bit Red Hat Linux 4 WS Opteron) modules:

You may not reverse engineer or decompile the modules, except as allowable by applicable law.
You may load, store, create and list the modules.
You may not copy, modify or distribute the modules.
You may only use the modules in conjunction with the Program.
