Db2 monitoring script used with TSA for HA automation might hangon systems with custom PATH env variable
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / B10 - DB2
Problem description: | |
Db2 monitoring scripts used for HADR HA automation might be unreliable (hang) on systems where PATH variable includes remote directories. Problem was observed specifically with db2pd command, which is run inside those scripts, e.g.: su - -c db2pd -hadr -db to check the status of HADR. In the environments where PATH variable includes NFS paths before $HOME/sqllib/adm shell will hang executing the script in case of a network outage trying to find correct binary (as it will attempt to lookup executables in the remote path first).
