IBM software withdrawals for selected Informix versions

Overview

For some older Informix Server or Informix Tool versions, IBM support will end on September 30, 2020. Please also see Announcement ZP19-0171, dated April 9, 2019, announcing the discontinuation of Informix 11.7.x versions.

For the following Informix versions and programs, IBM will discontinue service and support (EOS) on the date shown:

Overview

With the 137-page Announcement of April 9. 2019, IBM announces new End-of-Marketing (EOM) and End-of-Support (EOS) dates for a variety of products. Informix 11.7.x versions and Informix Advanced Workgroup Edition 12.10 will also be affected.

For the 11.7.x versions Informix 12.10 or Informix 14.10 are available as replacements.

The Informix Advanced Workgroup Edition will not be continued, IBM will end the offering of this edition on July 9, 2019 (EOM). However, customers who have this edition in maintenance will continue to be supported. A date for the end of support (EOS) has not yet been released.

Informix continues to provide optimized performance and reliability in a cost-effective and simple-toadminister database platform that is designed for continuous availability of critical data resources.

IBM Informix V14.10:

• Enhances performance of secondary backups and OLTP transactions
• Provides higher security for encryption keys and Transport Layer Security (TLS)
• Enhances usability, streamlines administration, and increases uptime
• Provides new graphical administration tool called InformixHQ
• Enhances Unicode support to current V11 specifications
• Enhances time series granularity and spatial projection systems
• Updates platform support to current 64-bit OS levels
• Increases hardware limits at the Workgroup Edition level
• Includes storage optimization at the Enterprise Edition level

IBM Watson IoT Platform, offers add-ons for blockchain service and analytics service, building on integrated IoT foundation to derive greater value from IoT devices

Watson IoT Platform combines the power and simplicity to scale to industrial IoT applications, solutions, and workloads. It integrates the existing capabilities and functions of IBM IoT Connection Service in an end-to-end, fully managed cloud service available for subscription in production or non-production environments:

Watson IoT Platform communicates with your applications and devices by using the Watson IoT Platform API and the Watson IoT Platform messaging protocol. Other capabilities include:

IBM IoT Building Insights delivers foundational IoT platform to help owners and operators manage connected buildings and drive optimal performance of entire enterprise

Overview:

IBM IoT Building Insights is a solution designed for collecting sensor data, performing robust analytics, and enabling better decision making in connected buildings. Through the collection, analysis, and storage of a building's sensor data, owners and operators gain actionable insights to optimize building performance and management for financial and regulatory requirements.

As a robust, scalable, and flexible IoT platform, IoT Building Insights creates value along the entire building transformation journey for both new construction and retrofits.

IoT Building Insights provides services that can be deployed for the following activities:

• Collect, store, and analyze data across an entire global enterprise.
• View accurate contextual map of an enterprise's vitals.
• Develop brand-differentiating experiences in buildings through augmented intelligence.
• Advance extensive experience in real estate and facility management.
• Perform global and large-scale delivery.

Clients can also purchase non-production environment Instances of IBM IoT Building Insights. The non-production Instance can be used to test and prove value in the solution, test connecting devices of any type, and to run proof of concepts. Each non-production Instance can support up to 10 client devices. If the client wishes to increase the number of devices, they must deploy the production offering.
