IBM Informix Advanced Enterprise for Cloud Pak and Modernization

Overview:

IBM Informix Advanced Enterprise Edition Cartridge for IBM Cloud Pak for Data 14.10 and IBM Informix Advanced Enterprise Edition Modernization 14.10 help clients modernize to cloud-native architectures, accelerating hybrid multicloud deployment and enhancing IBM Cloud Pack for Data administration.

With Informix Advanced Enterprise Edition Cartridge for IBM Cloud Pak for Data and
Informix Advanced Enterprise Edition Modernization, you can:

• Deploy on any cloud with Red Hat OpenShift.
• Modernize to a cloud-native architecture at your own pace.
• Use cloud-native benefits such as simplified provisioning, scaling, seamless upgrades, and consolidated management.
• Deploy and run faster with preconfigured templates on your choice of cloud.
• Add new users and resources easily, with a scale-as-you-go approach.

The new offering is licensed only via Virtual Processor Cores (VPC), Trade-Up from Informix Advanced Enterprise (PVU) or (VPC) is possible.

IBM software withdrawals for selected Informix versions

Overview

For some older Informix Server or Informix Tool versions, IBM support will end on September 30, 2020. Please also see Announcement ZP19-0171, dated April 9, 2019, announcing the discontinuation of Informix 11.7.x versions.

For the following Informix versions and programs, IBM will discontinue service and support (EOS) on the date shown:

Overview

With the 137-page Announcement of April 9. 2019, IBM announces new End-of-Marketing (EOM) and End-of-Support (EOS) dates for a variety of products. Informix 11.7.x versions and Informix Advanced Workgroup Edition 12.10 will also be affected.

For the 11.7.x versions Informix 12.10 or Informix 14.10 are available as replacements.

The Informix Advanced Workgroup Edition will not be continued, IBM will end the offering of this edition on July 9, 2019 (EOM). However, customers who have this edition in maintenance will continue to be supported. A date for the end of support (EOS) has not yet been released.
