STORED PROCEDURE QUERYING SYSONLINELOG LEAKS AIO FILE HANDLES

| Problem description: |
A query against the sysmaster table sysonlinelog will cause an
AIO file handle to be allocated for the online.log for the
duration of the query. If the query is run from a stored
procedure then the handle is not closed upon completion of the
procedure and a new one will be allocated on its next execution.
When the session that executed the stored procedure closes then
the currently open aio file will be closed but all previous file
handles will remain open. After 32767 aio handles have been
allocated the stored procedure will fail with error 244 / 101.
Other server operations that require an aio file handle will
also fail and the instance will need to be restarted.
The aio file handles may be observed using the onstat -g iof
command. |
