Informix - Problem description
Problem IT15608 | Status: Closed |
WHEN A TABLE HAS MUTLIPLE UPDATE TRIGGERS ON MUTLIPLE COLUMNS, THOSE TRIGGERS WILL FIRE ONCE PER COLUMN UPDATED PER TRIGGER
product: | |
INFORMIX SERVER / 5725A3900 / B70 - IDS 11.70
Problem description: | |
If you create more than one update trigger on a table which references multiple columns and then all of the triggered columns are updated in a row, each trigger will fire once per column updated. This behavior contradicts the documentation which says: "Whether it updates one column or more than one column from the column list, a triggering UPDATE statement activates each Update trigger only once." This only happens when there is more than one update trigger on the same set of columns. So a workaround for some customers would be to combine triggering actions into a single update trigger on the particular set of columns.
