INDEX PAGES MAY NOT BE CLEANED ON SECONDARY SERVERS

| Problem description: |
Index pages on secondary servers may be cleaned of deleted
entries using either of two methods. The first method cleans the
page directly by the thread that encounters deleted entries. The
second method uses a group of separate threads known as
proxyBTClean threads which will receive requests to clean the
pages and work on them asynchronously. The presence of these
threads, as shown by onstat -g ath, indicates that both methods
are in use.
There are circumstances in which the proxyBTClean threads may
not perform all cleaning requests that are sent to them which
may result in other threads having to clean these pages directly
with a potential impact on performance. |
