UNDULY SENDING NEW INDEX ON RAW TABLE VIA IPL OR DRIDXAUTO
product: | |
INFORMIX SERVER / 5725A3900 / C10 - IDS 12.10
Problem description: | |
The content of an index on a raw table wouldn't matter much to a secondary server, nor would it be more correct than an empty index. Neither would a raw table be accessible on a secondary (s. error -19846), nor could it be changed to mode standard on the primary (error -19845). And in case of a failover this would even introduce inconsistency (index entry pointing to non-existent rows). Nonetheless full index page logging (IPL, if configured or an SDS connnected) would occur upon creation of such index, and similarly DRIDXAUTO would transfer it to an HDR secondary with IPL off, which could delay index creation, would imply extra IPL checkpointing and might cause extensive server blocking. In general this sort of defeats the purpose of a raw table: being light weight and quick.
