Informix - Problem description

Problem IT27851 Status: Closed

SHRINKING A TABLE POTENTIALLY LEADING TO -101 'FILE IS NOT OPEN'FOR
PREPARED STATEMENTS LAST USED BEFORE THE SHRINK

product:
INFORMIX SERVER / 5725A3900 / C10 - IDS 12.10
Problem description:
This problem occurs since version 12.10.xC8 and so far has been
reported as SQL errors 626, 246, 243, all resulting from ISAM
error 101 ('file is not open').

Given some prepared statement(s) on a table, executed
successfully already in a session that's currently not using
them, now a 'table shrink' on this table comes along, e.g. from
auto_crsd task, before the session re-uses one of these prepared
statements. The next attempt by this session to execute such
statement would run onto 'file is not open' error (101) plus SQL
error depending on statement type.
