Access to a table could fail with SQL2216N SQL error "-301" if the following is true: - non-Unicode database - ALTER TABLE ALTER COLUMN was done to change column data type from CHAR/VARCHAR to GRAPHIC/VARGRAPHIC data type and returned SUCCESS - there is data in the table | |

Avoid ALTER TABLE ALTER COLUMN from CHAR/VARCHAR to GRAPHIC/VARGRAPHIC data type in a non-Unicode database if table has data. Instead, export data from the table, drop and recreate table with the new GRAPHIC/VARGRAPHIC data type column and reload data. | |
