DB2 - Problem description

Problem IT23322 Status: Closed

DB2LICM -L OUTPUT ON 11.1FP2 AESE/AWSE SHOWS IBM DB2 PERFORMANCEMANAGEMENT
OFFERING IS NOT LICENSED.

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / B10 - DB2
Problem description:
After applying 11.1FP2 on AESE/AWSE instance, db2licm -l shows
IBM DB2 Performance Management Offering(PMO) is not licensed as
follows:

$ db2licm -l
Product name:                     "DB2 Advanced Enterprise
Server Edition"
License type:                     "CPU Option"
Expiry date:                      "Permanent"
Product identifier:               "db2aese"
Version information:              "11.1"
Enforcement policy:               "Soft Stop"
Features:
IBM DB2 Performance Management Offering: "Not
licensed"

As the Knowledge Center explains, the AESE/AWSE product has the
functionality of PMO embedded and the separate db2pmf license is
for DSM to allow more features on their end. The AESE/AWSE
customers are already licensed to use the embedded features as
described in the documentation. The current documentation does
not clearly state that db2pmf license is required separately for
certain DSM features and the output of db2licm -l also causes
confusion for the same.

* This APAR will not be fixed in 11.1 release. Instead, we've *
* updated KC document as follows: *
*                                                              *
* The functionality that is provided by the IBM Db2 *

* Management Offering? as ?Not licensed?. This output is for *
* DSMs use, in order to allow certain features on their end. *
* The embedded features for IBM Db2 Performance Management *
* Offering in Advanced Workgroup Server Edition are available *
* to you.                                                      *
