Problem IT15642 | Status: Closed |
ONSPACES FAILS TO CREATE A CHUNK > 2GB, IF KERNEL_MODE IS SET TO32 BIT ON AIX
product: | |
IBM IDS ENTRP E / 5724L2304 / B15 - IDS 11.50
Problem description: | |
onspaces will fail to create a chunk >2 GB on AIX if KERNEL_MODE = 32 is set. The error message is_: The chunk 'chunkname' will not fit in the space specified This is due to the usage of "lseek" which cannot adress big chunks. If those chunks have already been created, and are accessed via KAIO, everything is working okay. Big chunks can exist in this scenario, as there has been a change in the behavior of onspaces between 11.50.Fc5 and 11.50.FC6. c
