CDR DEFINE REPLICATE --CLASSIC CAN TAKE A LONG TIME, VERY SIMILAR TO --MASTER REPLICATES
product: | |
INFORMIX SERVER / 5725A3900 / C10 - IDS 12.10
Problem description: | |
Defining a 'classic' replicate can take increasingly long, depending on the number of tables in a database, their number of columns and probably other factors like number of fragments, and of course depending on the number of participants and their remoteness (WAN). This is a new behavior with version 12.10 (where master replicates now are the default replicate type) and its improved support of timeseries replication (for which master replicates are mandatory). It turns out this would go through same time consuming catalog querying as the definition of master replicates, only to determine whether a timeseries type might be involved, i.e. whether it can be 'classic'.
